Meet Our Founder
Gilbert Cowie – CEO/Founder
Gil is a double Emmy Award-winning technologist, engineer, and innovator with a strong track record in sports broadcasting. As the founder and CEO of SmartCart Technologies, he led the deployment of touchscreen systems used by Sky Sports, CBS, and other Tier 1 broadcasters worldwide.
Gil is a qualified broadcast engineer with extensive international experience in news and sports operations, project development, and management.
His innovations extend beyond broadcasting, integrating his technology into pitch-side coaching. Under his leadership, Smart Cart Technologies has powered the CBS PGA Tour across 20 annual US events for five years: Premier League multi-stadium coverage, UEFA Champions League broadcasts for ESPN, and Wimbledon coverage for IMG/IBM.
With a reputation for delivering pioneering solutions, Gil specialises in taking products from concept to successful adoption at the highest sports broadcasting and coaching levels.
